Day 3: God Never Said That - Part 1

Day 3: The Invitation to Dependence
Reading: Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Devotional: Jesus invites the weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. Notice He doesn't say, "Figure it out yourself" or "You should be able to handle this." The Christian life isn't about achieving independence, it's about cultivating intimacy through dependence. God designed you to need Him daily, like the Israelites gathering manna each morning. Self-reliance isn't strength; it's isolation. When life pushes you past your limits, God isn't disappointed. He's extending an invitation: "Stop carrying this alone. Let me carry it with you... and you." True rest comes not from having less to carry, but from sharing the load with the One who carries you.

Reflection: What would change if you approached God first instead of as a last resort?
