Day 2: The Well, the Woman, and the Living Water
Reading: John 4:1-26
Devotional: The woman at the well did not come at noon by accident. She came at the hottest hour of the day to avoid the judgment of others, having conformed her entire life around shame and survival. Jesus did not avoid her. He walked directly toward her, crossed every cultural barrier, and offered her something the world could never provide, living water. Notice that before He offered her wholeness, He named the patterns in her life honestly. Divine confrontation is not condemnation. It is the beginning of compassion. Jesus sees the coping mechanisms you have built and is not walking away. He is walking toward you with an invitation to something better.
Practical Application: Spend ten minutes in quiet prayer today. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal one coping mechanism or destructive pattern in your life that you have been tolerating rather than surrendering to God.
