Day 4 - A Father's Blueprint: Supernatural Favor Part 2
Day 4: The God Who Went First
Reading: John 3:16-17 and Romans 5:8 — John 3:16-17 describes God giving his only Son so that the world might be saved through him. Romans 5:8 declares that God demonstrated his love by sending Christ to die for us while we were still in sin, not after we had improved ourselves.
Devotional:
Before you ever thought about giving anything to God, he had already given everything to you. He did not wait for humanity to get its act together. He did not wait for us to clean ourselves up or earn his favor. He went first. He gave his spotless, firstborn Son on a cross so that broken, imperfect, spiritually unclean people like you and me could be redeemed and welcomed into his family. This is the foundation of everything the Father's blueprint asks of us. God never calls you to a level of generosity that he has not already modeled toward you. When giving feels costly, return to this truth: the cross is God's tithe. He gave the first and the best so that everything else in your life could be covered, redeemed, and restored. You are not giving to a God who is withholding from you. You are responding to a God who has already given you everything.
Personal Reflection: How does the reality of what God gave for you change the way you think about what you give back to him? Does your daily life reflect someone who has truly received the generosity of the cross?
Practical Application: Spend ten minutes today in quiet gratitude, specifically meditating on what it cost God to redeem you. Let that gratitude be the foundation from which your generosity flows this week rather than obligation or duty.
