Day 3: Set Free Indeed

Day 3: Set Free Indeed
Reading:
Luke 4:18-19
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 6:6-7
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Devotional: Jesus came to proclaim liberty to captives—and that includes you. Whatever holds you bound: addiction, fear, shame, past failures, Jesus has the power to break those chains. He is the only one who truly sets people free. The baptisms celebrated remind us that freedom in Christ isn't just spiritual theory; it's transformational reality. When Jesus sets you free, you are free indeed, not partially liberated, not conditionally released, but completely free. This freedom cost Jesus everything at Calvary. His stripes purchased your healing; His blood secured your liberty. Don't settle for living in bondage when Christ has already paid for your freedom. Walk in the liberty He died to give you.

Reflection: What area of bondage do you need to surrender to Jesus today?

Weekly Challenge: This week, set aside 15 minutes daily to simply be in God's presence without an agenda. Tell Him, "I just want You," and listen for His voice.
